Chemical hoses are resistant to both organic and inorganic liquid chemicals such as acids and bases, salt solutions, paints and varnishes, solvents, hydrocarbons, petroleum products and etc. They are widely used for suction and delivery of chemical substances for variety of technological processes in the chemical industry, food and pharmaceutical industry, as well as numerous industrial processes (for example, loading and unloading of liquid chemicals in tank trucks, rail tankers, IBC containers, etc.).
So as to select the suitable chemical hose with regard to its chemical resistance, the following information is essential: type of chemical substance, its state (e.g. liquid, gas), concentration and temperature of chemical substance, working pressure, electrical conductivity. In order to assure long service life, when selecting chemical hoses, we recommend that you contact us. VESTA-VI offers a universal UHMWPE S&D acid solvent and chemical hose that is suitable for 98% of existing chemicals.
The inner layer of chemical hoses is usually made of EPDM or EPM rubber, VITON, polyamide, fluoropolymers (PTFE, PFA, MFA, FEP). They are reinforced with textile or steel wire helix. The outer layer is made of abrasive and weather resistant rubber.
Fittings intended for chemical hoses should be corrosion resistant and are mounted using worm-drive clamps, heavy-duty camps or crimped with ferrules.
More hoses suitable for chemical substances are available in the following groups: hydraulic hoses, thermoplastic hoses, petroleum oil and fuel hoses, PVC hoses, polyurethane hoses, PTFE hoses, hoses for antifreeze liquid and hot water.
